The Portage Fire Department received a 911 call at 9:09 p.m. tonight (Thursday), reporting multiple semis had collided on the bypass near Highway 240.

When firefighters arrived at the scene the two trucks were found together in a collision and jack-knifed. Police closed down westbound traffic between Angle Road and Highway 240.

Three occupants were in the two trucks and all three were treated on scene by paramedics. RCMP directed traffic off the bypass into town at Route 1A.  The accident was due to slippery conditions.

The westbound lane was closed as of this report.  It's unknown when the route will be re-opened.
