Changes are in the air in the Town of Stonewall as council looks for a new CAO. Mayor Lockie McLean says they're spreading the word.

"As of last night's council meeting with our assistant CAO, we asked her to just put the word out in the municipal world at the earliest to try to attract candidates who would want to be the new CAO at the Town of Stonewall. The next regular council meeting we'll pass a resolution making the current assistant CAO, Doreen Steg, the acting CAO."

McLean notes they're taking their time.

"We're going to take our time and we're going to make sure that when we fill the position we get a person that will be there for the long haul -- someone that will make Stonewall just a much better community. And with that being said, we hope to attract a lot of good candidates."

He adds Steg's experience for acting CAO will facilitate the time it takes to do the proper search.

"She's a very, very capable person. So, we're not in any rush whatsoever to fill the position just to fill the position."

McLean says there's no deadline, and they simply want to it once and do it right.
