Spring break is in session.

Portage la Prairie schools have closed their doors for the next week, as the annual week off in spring for students and staff commenced for 2024.

"The days are starting to get a little longer. We are enjoying that sunshine into the evening," continues Portage la Prairie School Division Superintendent Todd Cuddington."It's been a pretty good slog since Christmas, and it's a well-deserved break."

He expresses his anticipation for the upcoming spring activities as the school enters the final stretch before the summer break.

"We just want to wish everyone a relaxing, healthy, safe holiday and look forward to having them back refreshed and ready to go till June."

Cuddington notes that the division encourages students to stay active as the weather improves and the snow melts.

Classes resume on April 1.
