The PCI Saints had a tough 1-0 loss to Oak Park yesterday in Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey at the PCU Centre.

The Saints completely dominated the Raiders at both ends of the rink, but couldn't manage to slip one by their netminder. The game continued to lean in the Saints' favour, until late in the third period when they were assessed multiple penalties.

The Saints' managed to kill off a crucial 5-on-3 with just under 5 to go in the period -- but shortly after -- took another penalty which the Raiders capitalized on. The Saints threw everything at the net with seconds to go but couldn't get one by the Raiders' goalie, despite their 24 shots directed on net.

Saints' Head Coach Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie feels they did a great job of making the Oak Park goalie look good.

"Pretty uneven shots on goal, we dominated but actually if you looked at them -- and if you saw the shots -- there wasn't a lot of quality scoring chances, there was just a lot of shots put right at her. Yeah she saw a lot of rubber, but she didn't really have to move that much to make those saves."

Clark-Gillespie talks about their end of the game struggles.

"We don't want to make excuses about being tired because we just totally dominated them. I don't think we skated as hard as we could've -- and it was just people quit moving their feet offensively and defensively -- and it cost us the game."

The loss ended a 5 game winning streak for the Saints. Their final game before the Christmas Break is Thursday against Fort Richmond in Winnipeg.
