A draconian move is how Keystone Agricultural Producers describes a directive handed to the Canadian Wheat Board this week.

Agriculture minister Chuck Strahl has ordered the board to no longer spend any funds on advertising, publishing, or market research which supports the single desk.

President David Rolfe says the move has ruffled a lot of feathers in the farming community, and was the most controversy he's seen in a while.

Rolfe notes KAP completely objects to the order, and will be raising its concerns with the appropriate parties.
