The Carberry Royals may be representing the Santa Clara Baseball League at provincials soon, but they will be doing so as the regular season champions – not as the league champion.

The Minnedosa Mavericks only had four wins all year long, but have four wins this postseson, and will play for the championship. They completed their 2-0 sweep of the Royals in the semi-finals last night with a 7-4 win. In front of a huge crowd at home, Luke Gugin threw 6 ⅔ innings in the win.

In the other game on the night, the Plumas Pirates are still alive after a 9-6 win over the Cubs in Neepawa. Zac Yandeau returned to the mound after a leg injury earlier this year and led his team for the victory. Now, the Pirates will host a do-or-die Game 3 in Plumas on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
