It's a big weekend for the town of Teulon as it celebrates its 100th birthday.

Teulon was formed as a village back in 1919 by Charles C. Castle as a settlement for farmers. Castle named the village after his wife's maiden name, Teulon. The town has events spanning from Thursday to Canada Day.

Mike Ledarney chair of the Centennial committee talks about the emotions involved with pulling off such a big event.

"It's been two and a half years in the planning. So, we're excited and a little nervous," says Ledarney. "We've got a lot of people coming to town."

The weekend celebration features a parade, pancake breakfasts, fireworks, live music, a concert by Doc Walker, and so much more.

Ledarney says there's something for everyone.

"I think we have everything right from kids right through to adults including food trucks and concerts and a movie for the kids on Friday night. A Dog's Life is playing in the park and lot's of entertainment," Leadarney notes. "We welcome everyone in the area to come on down and visit us for a little while."
