The Portage Terriers picked up their 7th win in a row on Saturday night coming back to beat the Neepawa Titans 3-2.

The game started slowly with a pair of penalties being handed out to the Terriers. Neepawa’s Dean Noonan then went to the box for interference and the Titans capitalized during the 4 on 4 play. Mason Hartley ended the Terriers' shutout streak at 235 minutes and 36 seconds when he beat Bailey Monteith on a partial breakaway.

Bryden Kiesman tied the game 10 minutes later. He took a nice pass off the rush and jammed it past Mason Lobreau as he drove to the net. With the period winding down Titan forward Cameron Trimble banged home a goal at the side of the net. 2-1 Titans after 1.

Back and forth penalties slowed down the first part of the second period. In the second half Brendan Holba was slashed on a breakaway which drew a penalty shot. Ryan Botterill took the penalty shot but was stopped. The Terriers then drew a 5 on 3 power play and Kiesman scored his second of the night on a tipped point shot. 2-2 after 2.

The Terriers took their first lead of the night midway through the third period. Ryan Botterill dished the puck to Mike Stubbs on the power play and he ripped a shot past Lobreau. Portage killed a late penalty and hung on for the 3-2 victory.

Bailey Monteith stopped 17 shots for his 21st win of the season. Portage finished the night 2/6 on the power play. The Terriers are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Winnipeg Blues at Stride Place.
