The Manitoba Government has opened the application process for summer staff with Green Teams. 

The Portage la Prairie Community Revitalization Corporation (PCRC) has had Green Team students dating back several years.

Rachelle Sissons, the community engagement coordinator with the PCRC, explains.

"The Green Team supports Rotary with the gardens on the Island and the garden goodie boxes. We pick up garbage in the downtown area, and (they do) graffiti removal, as well."

Sissons notes they likely won't hear how many people they will be able to hire until late in the spring, but the organization is hoping to get two positions this summer.
