The annual bike auction put on by the Portage Fire Department is quickly approaching.

The event will occur Saturday at the back of the Fire Hall, commencing at 10 a.m.

"Bring some money with you and get yourself a bike for at the start of summer," says firefighter Curtis Rance with the Portage Fire Department.

According to Rance, the cost range will be between $5 - $100+.

"It varies a fair bit, and it's a live auction, so come on down and throw out your bids and we'll have an auctioneer there to run the whole show."

Rance has been a firefighter for 15 years and says this is something everyone at the hall looks forward to every year, with every penny going toward a worthy cause.

"It all goes to the Burn Fund, which helps support education and training for doctors and nurses that work in the burn ward in Winnipeg."

The firefighter is hoping for beautiful weather and a large crowd to help raise some money for the Burn Fund.
