Two Portage Fire Department pumper trucks were dispatched after a call came in at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) to Simplot in response to a fire.

A Fire Department vehicle arrived there before them, and RCMP as well.

They drove to the south side of the complex.

Firefighter Don Robertson says, from what they could tell, it seemed to be an overheated H-Vac unit, and no injuries with personnel occurred. He notes there was some light haze in the office area and they tracked it down to what seemed to be an overheated air handling unit. He notes evacuation occurred due to procedure, but all is back up and running.
