On May 19, at about 4:20 a.m., Selkirk RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Main Street, in Selkirk.

While the officer was speaking with those inside the vehicle, he noticed a knife and both the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

A search of the vehicle and of the men was conducted and resulted in the seizure of over $4,500.00 in cash, prescription medication, other suspected drugs, and weapons.

The driver and passenger, aged 54 and 34, both from Selkirk, are facing numerous of charges and were released from custody with an upcoming court date.

Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
