The Junk Yard Dogs had some of their holiday wishes granted last week by McMunn & Yates Portage.

On December 16th, McMunn & Yates brought Santa Claus back to Portage la Prairie, with the proceeds from photos with St. Nick going to the Junk Yard Dogs' trail system. Once the day was finished, McMunn & Yates surprised them with an additional $15,000 to go along with the roughly $1,200 from the photos.

General Manager Natasha Ralph believes the trails will make an excellent community addition.

"One of our contractor sales reps is, actually, a member of the Junk Yard Dogs," explains Ralph. "So, I got onto the fundraising committee there. The more I learned, the more I knew we had to be involved."

Blair Geisel, President of the Junk Yard Dogs, says when they started their most recent campaign, they were short by $200,000. Thanks to these donations and others made throughout this month, he's happy to say that number's dropped to $150,000.

"I'd like to extend my thanks to McMunn & yates," says Geisel. "They do a lot more in the community than just what we hear about at any given time. They have been great in supporting many different organizations, and they deserve credit for that."

The Junk Yard Dogs will use the money to purchase trail infrastructure for the dump hill.
