An incident occurred on Wilkinson Crescent on Monday morning, June 24, in Portage la Prairie involving a man who assaulted a resident.  An RCMP report is due to be issued soon, but unofficial reports say a man was trying to take a vehicle, and when disallowed, the incident happened. He then attempted to swim across Crescent Lake to evade RCMP, who eventually apprehended him.
