You likely noticed Crescent Road is undergoing plenty of construction recently. Councillor Terrie Porter says that's due to delays in regular work because of the Saskatchewan Avenue W rejuvenation project. She explains that the Avenue project is being done through grants from the province and federal government.

"But we have our own things we need to look after. The city project is starting some major underground work in preparation for a full reconstruction from Tupper St. to 4th St. That part is going to last the course of the summer. That's a big job."

She adds they're working on each end simultaneously as they try to pay attention to some of the road work that needs to get done. After that, they can hopefully look at some other areas in town once it's complete. It's just something that has to transpire for this year while the Avenue is being worked on.
