Canada's big 157th is right around the corner, and there are many celebrations taking place around the Portage la Prairie area.
The City of Portage is hosting their annual celebration at Stride Place on Island Park, with a pancake breakfast courtesy of the Rotary Club. The breakfast is $5 a plate. The day will also feature performances from local artists, and a fundraising BBQ in support of the Portage Bear Clan, with the usual fireworks display at dusk.
Elm Creek is similarly kicking their celebration off with a free pancake breakfast, followed by a town wide parade, and a series of other activities for all ages.
Holland's festivities include free mini-golf, a car show, and a wide variety of live performances.
