Today begins a week of awareness.

 

October 16th to 20th is School Bus Safety Week. The annual event brings the importance of bus safety to the public. Marilyn Bachalo of the Portage School Division Transportation Department says this week only helps to improve safety -- she thinks they're doing a good job of safety right now, she says the bus drivers and motorists are well aware of each other in driving situations.

Bachalo explains this week focuses on the evacuation drills. All the buses in the Portage School Division will have a drill sometime this week.
