It's a busy day in the Santa Clara Baseball League

The Portage Padres and Ebb and Flow Lakers have a double header today at Rotary Republic Park. The Padres are coming off an 8-4 win over the Cubs Wednesday night, while Ebb and Flow is coming off a loss to Carberry. Padres' Pitcher Rod McLeod says their win over Neepawa was one of their best performances, and they need more of that today.

"Pitch the ball well, we threw a lot of strikes, and we hit the ball as we usually do. Just keep that confidence at the plate going, and the confidence that we can pitch and play defense. I think we'll have a good shot at winning both this weekend."

McLeod like the Saturday double header format, and hopes for a good crowd on hand.

"It's a little bit of a shake-up this year. It's nice because we have a couple of junior players that can come out and make it. So we should have a full roster for Saturday, up and ready to go.

The Padres and Ebb and Flow go at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. As well as Dauphin and Austin, this first of their double header starts at 1 as well. Plumas and Minnedosa go at 7 p.m. tonight in Minnedosa.
