We knew it was coming. Monday, it was a watch. Tuesday, it changed to a warning. And now it's here. It may not be the worst storm we have seen, but it is still packing a punch. Plus, when you combine strong winds and any amount of snow, driving conditions are always tough in the Central Plains.

As of 4:04 p.m., on Wednesday, the following highways were closed:

  • Highway 3, from Carman to Highway 18
  • Highway 13, from Carman to Elm Creek
  • Highway 14, from Highway 3 to Highway 75
  • Highway 16, from Neepawa to Highway 50
  • Highway 23, from Highway 34 to Highway 336
  • Highway 34, from Holland to US Border
  • Highway 428, from Highway 23 to Highway 32
  • Highway 432, from Highway 201 to Highway 23.

The Portage la Prairie School Division and Pine Creek School Division will not run buses Thursday for a second straight day due to impassable roads.

Oakville School is open to students whose caregivers are able to transport them.
