United Way in Central Plains Region is holding a unique event that's the opposite of their kickoff held every year in September. It's called their Touch-Down event.

Community Engagement Coordinators Kathryn Dalton and Megan Romphf are hosting it in Portage la Prairie and Dalton gives an outline.

"Now that our annual campaign has wrapped up at the end of March, on April 4th, we're going to be at Prairie Fusion hosting our touchdown," says Dalton. "We're going to announce the total funds raised, who we're going to be supporting as community agency partners in the new fiscal year, as well as acknowledge and appreciate our volunteers and contributors."

Romphf says the admission is $5.00 and that includes coffee and breakfast.

"It's a great networking opportunity, as well," says Romphf. "If you want to meet us or get in touch with any of our community partners, it's a great place to do it."

Dalton says all funds raised at this event will go toward the 2024 campaign supporting their community partners into the next year. All in all, she continues, it's a great way for them to say thanks for all the support over the last six months since they've been in office.

"We've done a lot of great things that we want to share with you and hope you're excited to move forward with us," adds Dalton.
