Two Portage Terriers have been recognized for their stellar performances in the month of February. Portage's own Ryan Botterill and Portage's own Kian Calder are receiving monthly awards from the MJHL.

Botterill is the league's Player of the Month winner. He averaged two points per game in February. The 19-year-old forward scored 12 goals and dished out eight assists in ten games last month. Botterill is fifth in the MJHL in total points this season with 58 and is second in goals with 35.

Calder was awarded the MJHL Defenceman of the Month as he finished February with nine points and helped lead the Terriers to a 9-1 record in that span. Calder was named the team captain on February 12 against the Niverville Nighthawks. In his six games as the team captain, Calder has three goals and two assists, and the Terriers are 6-0.

Four of the six Defenceman of the Month awards have been given to Portage Terriers this season. Hayden Lacquette has won the award twice, Brandon McCartney earned the award in October, and now Calder has received his first monthly award of the season.

The Terriers have just seven games left in the regular season and are returning to Stride Place tonight. The Dogs will be in action against the Winnipeg Blues tonight at 7:30.
