A new flag pole has been purchased by the North Norfolk Council. Mayor Neil Christoffersen outlines the details.

"The council, in their planning and budgeting, have decided to replace the flag pole at the cenotaph because it was just getting wore out. This one here is going to be a brand new one with interior wires for security, and it'll be a lot easier to get the flag up and down."

Christoffersen says it will really help with their remembrance day service.

"Remembrance Day service is important in the community, and there's more and more people coming out to the actual service on the date -- and we do the commemoration -- and we need a nice flag pole to help with the ceremony on November 11th. So we decided to order the flag pole, and it'll be up this summer."

Christoffersen is pleased with the purchase, and can't wait for it to be completed this summer.
