A monk is walking the length of Canada for the third time to raise spiritual awareness.

Bhaktimarga Swami started his trek in Victoria, B.C. in June and is heading toward the Ontario border after a pit-stop in Portage yesterday.

He feels people have become more receptive to his message since his first walk ten years ago, having been approached more frequently.

Although spiritualism is a minority among other religions, Swami stresses he isn't trying to convert people, but rather attempting to enhance their lives.  He also wants to break down barriers between different religious approaches.

Unlike his first two walks, Swami will break upon reaching the Ontario border to fulfill other commitments, and resume his trek next year.
