Portage Collegiate's 'In The Nic-O-Time Challenge' started today, and member Samantha Brinton says it's all about curbing the habit of smoking.

Sierra Blight's also involved in the program, and says it started off well.

"We got lots of other people there that we didn't think would be coming. And we have Paradox playing right now. The school stage band was playing, too, and they were amazing."

Brinton adds the program hits home. "Just working against tobacco has been a huge part of my life. My dad passed because of smoking. And I've always just felt a need to try and help others not have to go through the same thing."
