Forty-one sessions are planned for the Eighth International Conference of Hutterite Educators beginning tonight at the Canad Inns in Portage.

350 delegates are registered, including many teachers from the Hutterite community.

Conference Committee Chair Michael Naylor sees that trend growing, and believes it strikes a good balance between Hutterite and non-Hutterite educators.
Naylor believes this conference is particularly important for colony teachers, who tend to be more isolated than those in mainstream schools.

He notes the conference isn't much different than any other, except the sessions are geared toward teachers dealing with a wide range of grades.
