A local auction mart has reached another milestone.

The Gladstone Auction Mart celebrated its 60th anniversary on October 6th by having an open house for anyone to join in.

Blaine Houston, manager of the auction mart, says that the celebration was a hit, with over one hundred people come to check it out.

"It was perfect to have the information session on our sales tactics and tour of the new pens, and everyone here was pleased with how it went."

He mentions that he could not be more thankful to be a part of a business that's been open for 60 years. Noting that, he hopes they can be here for another 60.

Houston says the main reason the auction mart has been so successful is all thanks to the consumers.

"You know the community has supported us throughout the 60 years and they keep supporting us, not just the local community but all surrounding communities as well. Producers are supporting and keeping us going, and it just takes the village to keep er' going, and that's what we've got."

The Gladstone Auction Mart has auctions every Tuesday, with delivery on Mondays for producers.
