A call came in to the Gimli RCMP concerning the report of a garage fire on Viking Bay in the RM of Gimli.

It took place this past Saturday, January 28, at about 4:40 p.m. EMS, RCMP and the fire department were there. Fire quickly spread to the main section of the house.

First responders entered the home and remains were discovered. The identity of the remains is unconfirmed at this point in time and an autopsy is taking place.

Investigation continues with help from the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
