As of 5:23 p.m. on Thursday, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), has issued a Fog Advisory for Portage la Prairie.

Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring in the region according to ECCC.

Fog with near zero visibility at times is being reported through parts of the Red River Valley and western Manitoba. The fog is forecast to spread throughout the night, and regions may be added to the fog advisory later this evening.

The fog will lift and is supposed to improve gradually through Friday morning.

ECCC says that visibility may be significant and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
