The Portage Terriers prepare to face another team ahead of them in the standings tonight when the Winkler Flyers come to town.

The teams have faced off twice this season, each claiming a win. Winkler won the first contest 4-3 in a shootout at Stride Place, and Portage taking a 4-0 victory over the Flyers at the Winkler Arena.

The Dogs enter the bout with wins in 3 of their last 5 games. Their most recent game was a tough loss to the Steinbach Pistons 2-1. Talking to the players after the game though, the team was fairly upbeat, saying they proved to themselves that they could keep up with the top teams.

Winkler has won their last 8 consecutive games, with their last victory being a 4-3 score over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

The Terriers look to add another win to their season, which currently sees them sitting 5 points behind the Flyers for 2nd place in the MGEU East Division. The Flyers also hold 3 games in hand over Portage.

Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. at Stride Place.
