The next set of Portage la Prairie roads will be closed as construction continues into the summer months.

The City announced via their website that at 6 a.m. on May 27, the intersection of 18th Street Northwest and Saskatchewan Avenue West will be closed. They intend to reopen the intersection by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 29.

Luckily for those who frequent that intersection, it isn't scheduled to be closed as long as Stephens Avenue. Starting on May 27 at 7 a.m., Portagers will be unable to use Saskatchewan Avenue East to access Stephens Avenue. The construction time on Stephens will take longer than 18th Street, as they intend to have the road re-opened by June 5.

These areas will be closed so crews can do excavation work and additional paving.
