A new program will be making a second appearance in the Interlake School Division. Superintendent Darlene Duffily notes the " Balanced School Day" was piloted by the division last year in five schools, and they've expanded it to all of their kindergarten to grade eight schools and one high school. She notes there has been an excellent response to the program, adding they've made several presentations to other divisions and she sees it catching on throughout the province. Duffily says Manitoba isn't their only target , she notes principals from the division will travel to New Orleans to present the " Balanced School Day" at an educational conference.
Duffily explains the " Balanced School Day" consists of 3 one hundred minute teaching sessions, broken up by three nutrition and exercise breaks. She is optimistic about the continuation of the program, and is looking forward to another great school year.
