It was a split night for PCI in West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Tier 2 junior varsity basketball.

The PCI Trojans let a 14 point lead slip away in the fourth quarter, and fell 74-61 to the Elmwood Giants. The Trojans looked calm and collected through the first 3 quarters, but couldn't seem to find any rhythm in the 4th. Trojans' Grade 10 player Nic Penner gives his thoughts on the breakdown.

"We kind of let them in our heads, and our communication was a bit off"

Also at PCI, the junior varsity Saints controlled their way to a 63-26 win over Elmwood. Saints' Grade 10 player Tee-Tee Appah led the way with 17 points, and talks about their progression this season.

"Last year we were last place in our Tier, but this year we've been winning -- and losing some -- but we've learned from those losses and we work as a team which is the important part. Our teammates, we've all come together strong, and that's what makes each of us better. We don't play as individuals, we play as a team."

The junior varsity Saints and Trojans are back in action Tuesday.
