The PCI Trojans and Saints hockey clubs are both in action tonight.

The PCI Saints welcome the Lorette Scorpions tonight in Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey. The Saints haven't lost a regular season match since November 10th when they fell 2-1 to the first place CJS Olympians. The Saints are only 3 points ahead of the Scorpions in the standings and look to create some space between them in the standings. Saints' Head Coach Jo-Anne Clark-Gillespie says they still have some areas that need work.

"We're playing very well right now, and there's some things that we can improve upon, and we actually went over a lot of things at practice. So I'm looking for a better start to the game than we had on Monday. We have a tendency to just play to the level of our opponents, but we challenged our girls the other night that we want to see them play like they did on Monday."

The Saints and Scorpions face off this afternoon at 3:45 at the BDO Centre.

The PCI Trojans host Morden tonight in Zone 4 High School Hockey at the PCU Centre. The Trojans are coming off a 9-3 win over Altona, following a 4-0 shutout loss to Carman. The Trojans are tied with Morden at 14 points, 1 point back of second place Morris. Trojans' Head Coach Mark Essay acknowledges the importance of tonight's game for his club.

"Yeah we definitely want to climb the standings. It would be awesome to be in the top 2 at Christmas, we never have before. If we're top 2 at Christmas it really opens up the kids we can send to the All-Star game."

Essays explains how confidence can be good -- or bad -- depending on how you handle it.

"It's really critical. When we had that unfortunate loss in Carman -- but it was a real motivator for the guys -- they realized they can lose those games if they don't go out there with a desire to win. Somebody else is going to want it more than them, and we really rebounded really well in Altona. Hopefully our last few games here we can keep the pedal to the metal."

Tonight's Trojans game starts at 7:45 at the PCU Centre.
