It's a white start to the day in southern Manitoba, as a weather system moves through, dropping between 5 and 10 cm on us.

It means highways and streets are snow-covered and slippery for the drive to work, while visibility in rural areas may be reduced.

You're reminded to drive to the conditions, so slow down, and allow extra time to get where you need to be.

A check of the MIT map shows many roads across southern Manitoba are snow-covered and slippery. They include the Trans Canada Highway from Oakville to the Saskatchewan border, as well as Highways 2, 3, 16, and 50.

So far, the Interlake looks clear.
