Portager Carson Inman won his first ever Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour event last week in Selkirk. Inman says he started off on day one having a stellar front nine and then says his back nine was quite impressive as well.

"I ended up second going into the second day," says Inman. "I knew I had to shoot a 76 or something like that to get close to the leader and I did. I ended up in a three man playoff and I ended up winning that, which was surprising because after my tee-shot I thought I was done."

Inman says he fired his tee-shot into the trees but was able to comeback and still pickup the victory. He notes he played in a playoff previously, actually coming against one of the same opponents he was facing this time around.

"On the same course actually, I think two years ago I was playing the same guy in the playoff as one of them there," says Inman. "It's really nerve-wracking going up there with people watching you. My hands were shaking over the putt to win but I ended up beating the guy who beat me two years ago in the playoff on the same hole."

To top it all off, it was Inman's 14th birthday on the day of the victory which he says made it even more exciting.

He adds his next junior tournament will take place July 29 and 30.
