The Central Plains Capitals look to gain some ground on first place Yellowhead tonight in the Manitoba Female Midget Hockey League.

The Caps sit 5 points back of the top ranked Chiefs, and only 2 points back of the 3rd place Pembina Valley Hawks. With the top 4 teams in the league separated by 5 points at most, Caps' forward Mekaela Fisher says every point counts.

"I think every game we play now is really important for us going into playoffs. We want to make sure we can get the points, while we can."

Fisher expects a physical game tonight, as both teams can't afford the loss.

"They're going to come out really hard because they're going to want it as bad as we do, really physical and fast. So we have to make sure we play the way we can, and make sure we play our defensive end before we're looking to go offensive."

The Caps and Chiefs go at 7:30 p.m. in Shoal Lake.
