Exam week can be a stressful time, but one students at Westpark School in Portage la Prairie says there are ways to reduce the burden. Grade 12 student Kristen Letkeman finished writing her Chemistry exam Tuesday morning, and feels she did quite well on the test. She says preparations are key when it comes to studying, and she started her preparations well before exam week.

"About a week and a half ago I started writing out flash cards for myself so I could quiz myself. I also read over my notes lots and did lots of practice questions to make sure I was covering all of the stuff we had covered in class."

She's now getting ready for her second exam of the year, this one focusing on biology. She says there's no doubt the period of extended testing can be cumbersome, but has some tips for those looking to make exam time a little less stressful.

"It's a little stressful but I think as long as you prepare ahead of time and manage your time, it's okay. For me, flashcards work really well, because then I can quiz myself. I think just funding a quiet space is also important, For me, I put my phone somewhere else so I'm not distracted and can focus on just studying."

She notes she's also reached out to her teachers, to help ensure she was studying all material necessary to her exams.
