Last night in the Manitoba Major Soccer League's Fourth Division, the United were on the road taking on Carman, and for the second straight game Southport shutout their opponent, this time 3-0.

United Coach, Albert Phillipot, says after coming out a little tentative, Southport turned up their intensity after netting their first goal as his players began to communicate. He adds that all in all he's pleased with their first half effort, but clearly the turning point was from the start of the second half, when Southport began firing more shots and applying more pressure.

Last night's goals were scored by Chris Assenmacher, Glenn McCulloch and Michael Phillipot off a feed from Ray Chabot.

With the win Southport now moves into a second place tie in the Fourth Division with the Saint James Hurricanes, who they will visit this Sunday. Southport will have it in tough trying to keep their unbeaten streak in tact, as the Hurricanes have only lost twice this year.
