The Trojans Junior Varsity Boys Volleyball team put another win under their belt tonight. They beat Stonewall 3-1. Jessica Painter is coach of the boys and says it took them a set to warm up, but once they were in the swing of things, there wasn't much in the way of stopping them.

"The first set definitely wasn't their best showing," says Painter. "But after that their serves started picking up, their passes started picking up and they started really continuing to work together as a team and remembering where each other was on the court and working together that way really well."

The first set went to Stonewall with a score of 25-23, then the Trojans took control of the rest of the game, winning the next three sets  25-8, 25-16, and 25-7. Painter notes the last set is where they really shone.

"After the first set was over then they did really good and started to look like a team again," says Painter. "In the last set they played really well, Kyle Van Deynes had a 19 point serving streak, so that was really awesome. And then they stayed strong after that to finish it."

Painter says they saw great serving from Kyle van Deynes as well as Ty Funk, and some great hits came from Brady Lambert, Joseph McEwing, and Jared Verhoeven.

Next action for the JV boys is tomorrow, as they travel to Shaftesbury.
