Central Plains Cancer Services in Portage la Prairie has been that special organization that has assisted so many people in their health journeys, and they're increasing space to do more. Executive Director Sharilyn Knox says some office space beside them was made available.

"The office beside us closed and the building that we are in actually owns part of that building," explains Knox. "We've been looking at expanding a little bit and the time is right. We're going to be expanding to the west in our building and creating more space for things like our education programs, support groups, and so on. You'll see us undergo a little bit of a renovation in the next few months."

Keeping in mind that growth always increases, she adds this is perfect for what they need at the moment.

"It just helps us do more things in-house," continues Knox. "It helps us do in-house education and support groups which we know are needed and wanted in our community. We're always excited to just meet the needs of people in Portage la Prairie in our Central Plains region; anywhere that Central Plains Cancer Services supports."

Knox says the new space will house a large board room, an education room, and an office along with some of storage. She notes their current office space will remain open while the change takes place, and you'll soon hear the date when everything will be showcased.
