This years strawberry season in Portage came early and was short.

Doug Connery of Connery Strawberry Farms explains as in any farming weather plays a role. Adding the hot dry weather accounts for the short season. Connery continues to explain with less rain then normal, more pickers were able to come out and get the berries they wanted.

Meanwhile Scott giffen of Mayfair Farms agrees he was busy and the short season won't hurt his bottom line.
