It's now 2016, and we're all looking at what's coming up in the new year.

For Southern Health-Sante Sud, a new strategic plan's on the horizon, and CEO Kathy McPhail calls it a first, since amalgamation, because up to now, they've harmonized plans from each of the components.

"This is the first strategic plan for Southern Health-Sante Sud as a new organization. So, moving forward, we certainly want to action those things in the strategic plan. And some of those are around enhancing the community level of engagement through local health involvement groups. And then on a program level, we certainly want to enhance that."

McPhail notes 2016 will see Southern Health-Sante Sud continue establishing "My Health Teams" across the RHA, which provide a package of healthcare services. She says the teams are growing.

"One of those is just beginning in Portage-Gladstone, Morden-Winkler is another that's maybe a few months ahead, and Steinbach has been up and running with a "My Health Team" for a number of years, and then we have another that we're working with that hopefully, in this upcoming year, will get off the ground, between the clinic of Ste. Anne, St. Claude, and Notre Dame."

McPhail says there'll be many renovation projects across the RHA in 2016, adding many of those will be funded through Manitoba Health.
