A reduction in student parking lots at the new high school campus in Portage isn't a cause for concern for a school trustee.

Allen Dell admits the number of stalls agreed upon with the contractor is less than what they had hoped for.

But he stresses the city has helped to even out the initial loss, removing 25 parking meters along Saskatchewan avenue.

Dell notes the reduction was unintentional and was due to uncontrollable situations.  He says there will still be enough room for students to find parking.

Operations manager Tom Henry views the reduction positively, considering the cost savings.
