In Northern League baseball yesterday, Fargo-Moorhead picked up its first series victory over Winnipeg this season as they shutout the Fish 6-0.

Leading the RedHawks was Brandon Goltz, who threw eight innings of shutout work, and with the win Fargo finishes the first half of the season with a 32-16 record.

The RedHawks scored two runs in the bottom half of the first inning after Richard Austin was walked and Jesse Hoorelbeke hit his league-leading 12th home run of the season.

After two scoreless innings Fargo-Moorhead took advantage of a Winnipeg error and a two hit batsmen to score four runs on just two hits.

In 8 innings of work, Goltz gave up just three hits and struck out three batters. The outing tied his career long and moved him to 4-0 on the year. With the loss Mark McMichael's record drops to 6-2.

Winnipeg is back on the diamond tonight when they host Joliet with a 7:00 o'clock start time.
