The Portage Terriers joined the other members of the league for the MJHL Draft on Sunday morning.

Portage made selections in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth rounds.

Ninth overall, they selected Jonah Lemoine of the U18 Brandon Wheat Kings. Terriers Head Scout Angus Moar shared his perspective on the selection.

"He's a skilled right winger from Brandon. He has always been a contributor to the Brandon AAA programs."

With their next pick, 48th overall, Portage selected Jack Perrier from Darlingford. Moar added his thoughts on who Perrier is as a player.

"He has a nose for the net and continues to improve each season."

With their fifth-round selection, the Terriers added Nolan Saunderson, a defenceman from the U18 Brandon Wheat Kings.

"We think he is a highly skilled, highly competitive D-man who also plays in Brandon. He was originally from the Carberry area."

With their final pick, Spiller and his staff selected Luan Van Wyk from Portage. Moar added what made them interested in picking him up.

"The local product played last season with Central Plains U17. He has his best results when his compete level is high. He has the ability to be a shutdown, physical type of defender."
