On October 29th, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway #1 heading toward Portage.

Police located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop on Saskatchewan Avenue East.

Police then pulled over the driver and asked the man to provide a breath sample on a roadside screening device.

The test results indicated impairment, resulting in the 38-year old driver from Elie being issued an immediate roadside driving suspension and the loss of his license for 90 days.

The man had his vehicle towed and impounded for 30 days and will need to pay an Administration Penalty of $700.00.
