The Portage Phillies' bats have come to life at the North American Fastpitch Association A-Major World Championship, as the club defeated a team from Illinois this morning 10-1.

Coach Jay Dewis says Trevor Macdonald pitched very well over five innings and picked up the win.

After losing 4-1 in the tournament opener, the team bounced back to hit the ball very well today, getting multiple hit games from Devon Smith, Dan Fedak, and Troy Mutch. Jean Prejet and Mutch also had home runs.
