Penticton, B.C., and the 2017 Western Canada Cup await the Portage Terriers. But first, a chance for fans to bid the 2016-17 Manitoba Junior Hockey League champions adieu.
The Terriers are holding a Pep Rally from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Stride Place, giving fans the opportunity to meet the players, get autographs and even take photographs with the Turnbull Cup.
"It's a chance for us to say thank you to the fans for all the great support through the playoffs," says Terriers marketing director Heather Jordan.
The Terriers leave for Penticton Friday morning. Jordan reminds Wednesday's rally is one final opportunity for fans to pump up the team ahead of the Western Canada Cup.
"By the time we get (to Penticton) we'll have been off for more than a week," she says. "Let's get the guys excited!"
Food will also be available at the Pep Rally. A hamburger, chips and drink are available for $5.
