New Recycling Deal For Gladstone

A new deal for the town of Gladstone is also good news for a local industry.

The town recently signed an agreement with Portage and District Recycling to have Gladstone's recyclable materials shipped here.

Previously, Gladstone's recycling was shipped to Brandon -  the new agreement was put in place when that processor shut down and stopped accepting materials.

Gladstone Mayor Catherine Smith says the deal will mean lower shipping costs for the town, and says they plan to stay with the Portage recycler for as long as it benefits the community.
