Former Community Facilitator with the Portage Community Revitalization Corporation Mary Lynn Moffat is now the Executive Director for the Community Foundation of Portage and District.

Her first day was yesterday and Moffat discusses why she made the change.

"I've always been impressed with what the Foundation has to offer the community, and have followed it for a number of years. We work, from PCRC and the Foundation, both organizations are working hard to make a difference in the community. I'm looking forward to working with the board of directors, a fabulous and active group of individuals that are passionate about the community and district."

Moffat says her time with the PCRC will definitely help her in her new role.

"I've really thought about this a lot after I applied for this job, and I see a number of similarities between the two organizations in the sense of the desire to build the community and district. It will be very great to see strong organizations working together to make a difference."

Moffat's still new to the CFPD, but says there are a few things she's looking forward too.

"That's a tough one because I don't know everything that goes on through here yet. I'm really looking forward to working to build the endowment funds, and the various funds that are available. So working with potential donors, and existing donors -- as well as the grant recipients, the groups and individuals that are working hard to make a difference."

She adds the CFPD has always impressed her with what they offer the community, and all that comes from their hard work in the community.
